Spoken into reality

During the fall of 2015, Damian Azubuike began training clients as a service. Meanwhile, David Addo was working with various designer brands to cultivate new clothing concepts. Then the unexpected happened, a pandemic had hit and both individuals were forced to adapt. On August 22, 2020 Damian bumped into David and informed him of his plans to rebrand his fitness business and David, who was currently working on a lifestyle brand app, agreed. Damian brings over 15 years of resistance training experience, while David brings his vast knowledge of cardiovascular and mobility training. Ugochi joined soon after and spearheaded efforts to debunk myths surrounding women and weightlifting. All that was left was to find Tochi Nwosu, which they did.

Our Team

“You only own two things in this world, and they are your words and your body”

Damian Azubuike, Co-Founder of Abeg Train Me and graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. With over 15 years of lifting experience, Damian brings an arsenal of techniques and a breathe of knowledge when it comes to resistance training.  Damian has trained with NFL athletes, IFBB Pro Bodybuilders, celebrity trainers, and high level power lifters. His training style focuses primarily on building a strong foundation through strength training, promoting fat loss by increasing lean contractile tissue via the use of free weights.

“Everything happens for a reason”

David Addo, Co-Founder of Abeg Train Me, graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a degree in Community Health with a concentration in Health Planning and Administration. In addition, David received his MBA with a concentration in Information Systems from Roosevelt University. David is a former multi-sport athlete who specialized in basketball. David’s experience in various sports led him to develop a training style that utilizes the surrounding environment (hills, sand, uneven terrain) to create challenges for his clients. David's training style employs HIIT and cardiovascular endurance focus in order to promote overall body mobility and longevity.

“A comfort zone is a beautiful place, but nothing ever grows there”

Ugochi Ogueri, Co-Founder of Abeg Train Me, graduated from Baylor University in Waco, Texas with a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience.  Ugochi's experience as a former varsity cheer captian has taught her the importance of muscle flexibility, muscle development, and cardiovascular health.  As an insipiring medical school student, she employs scientific knowledge of weight training and nutrition backed by scientific literaure and research to train effectively and efficiently. Ugochi's training style focuses on building a client's frame through nutrition and strength training.

Tochi Nwosu is a talented model and one of the key members of Abeg Train Me LLC. He played a pivotal role in the establishment of the organization via relationship building with various photographers, videographers, and putting out fires behind the scenes. Tochi began lifting 6 years ago in order to take his modeling career to the next level. In such a cutthroat industry, failing to maintain an elite physique could result in a lack of opportunities. He since then amassed a wealth of experience under Damian Azubuike, IFBB Pro body builders, and record holding powerlifters.  He focuses primarily on building muscle symmetry through correct form and technique.

“The best way to guarantee a loss is to quit”

Brittney Azubuike, Head of External Affairs, is best described as Abeg Train Me's ultimate contingency plan. She juggles being an undergraduate student at Middlebury College with managing the Abeg Train Me street teams, college outreach program, investor relations, and even the Abeg Train Me TikTok page.
